Real-World Asset Tokens: What CoinDCX's List Captures, and Where the Market Now Stands
CoinDCX's guide to the top real-world asset (RWA) tokens highlights five projects, Chainlink, Ondo Finance, XDC Network, Quant, and Pendle, as the names reshaping the move to put tangible assets on-chain. The selection remains a reasonable snapshot of the infrastructure layer, though the price and market-cap figures in the guide reflect 2025 levels and have since shifted. The broader point holds: tokenisation, the conversion of assets like bonds, commodities, and real estate into blockchain tokens, has moved from concept to a measurable market.

The sector in numbers
Estimates of the total tokenised RWA market vary by tracker and by what each counts, but the direction is consistent. As of early 2026, figures range from roughly $27 billion in distributed asset value (RWA.xyz) to around $37 billion on broader measures, with at least one source citing year-on-year growth above 100%. The composition is telling. Tokenized US Treasuries lead the category at roughly $12 to 13 billion, nearly half the total, followed by commodities (around $5 billion, mostly gold) and asset-backed private credit. These are yield-bearing instruments, not speculative tokens, which is part of why the segment has drawn steady institutional capital even while other crypto sectors contracted.
The five tokens, briefly
The CoinDCX list groups together projects that play different roles. Chainlink provides the oracle and cross-chain infrastructure that lets tokenised assets reference reliable off-chain data and move between blockchains; it underpins settlement work for institutions including J.P. Morgan. Ondo Finance is the most prominent issuer on the list, specialising in tokenised Treasuries and, since 2025, tokenised equities through its Global Markets platform, which offers on-chain exposure to over 100 US stocks and ETFs. By early 2026 Ondo held roughly 60% of the nascent tokenised-equity market. XDC Network targets trade finance and supply-chain tokenisation, Quant focuses on cross-chain interoperability through its Overledger system, and Pendle enables the tokenisation and trading of future yield.
What the list illustrates is that "RWA token" covers two distinct things: tokens of companies building the rails (Chainlink, Quant, XDC, Pendle) and tokens that represent the underlying assets themselves (such as Ondo's Treasury and equity products). Buying the former is a bet on infrastructure adoption; the latter is closer to holding the asset on-chain.
Why it matters, and the caveats
The appeal of tokenisation is consistent across the asset classes: fractional ownership lowers the entry barrier, settlement can be near-instant and around the clock, and the tokens can serve as collateral in DeFi without converting back to fiat. For investors, that means access to instruments like short-term US debt yield without a traditional brokerage account.
Two caveats are worth keeping in view. First, market-cap and price data for these tokens move quickly and differ across sources, so the CoinDCX figures should be treated as indicative rather than current. Second, the token of an infrastructure project is not the same investment as the tokenised asset it helps issue; their values can diverge sharply. Tokenised equities in particular remain regulatory complex, often conferring economic exposure rather than full shareholder rights.
The takeaway from the CoinDCX list, read against current data, is that RWA tokenisation is no longer a thesis waiting to be tested. With tens of billions in assets already on-chain and institutions from Franklin Templeton to BlackRock issuing tokenised funds, the question has shifted from whether traditional assets will be tokenised to how fast, and under what rules.
